About the Herrs: Ed Herr, J.S. Herr, J.M. Herr

At Herr Foods, we are deeply committed to supporting organizations throughout the world that help people live more productive, spiritually enriched lives. Our goals are to provide for those in need and assist those who are working to better their communities.

We make financial contributions through Herr Foods Inc. and the J.S. Herr Foundation. The J.S. Herr Foundation – created by and named for our founder, James S. Herr – is a private organization that directs monetary donations to worthy charities.

Each year, we provide financial support to over 1,000 organizations. The following are a representative sampling of these charities:

	American Cancer Society The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service.

	Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the oldest hospital in the United States dedicated exclusively to pediatrics, strives to be the world leader in the advancement of healthcare for children by integrating excellent patient care, innovative research and quality professional education into all of its programs.

	Free Library of Philadelphia The mission of the Free Library of Philadelphia is to provide to all segments of Philadelphia’s diverse population a comprehensive collection of recorded knowledge, ideas, artistic expression and information in a variety of media.

	Golden Slipper Camp The Golden Slipper Camp is a non-profit, multicultural overnight camp providing a quality camping experience in the Pocono Mountains and other year-round programs to children who might otherwise not have the opportunity.

	Junior Achievement of Delaware Valley Junior Achievement is passionate people inspiring kids to learn the economics of life through free enterprise education. JA enables caring business professionals to share their experience with students to show them what it takes to be successful. After all, kids are our future.

	Lighthouse Youth Center The Lighthouse Youth Center shines the light of Jesus to the Oxford, Pennsylvania-area youth through our staff-directed activity center and programs.

	National Fatherhood Initiative The National Fatherhood Initiative is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that aims to improve the well-being of children through the promotion of responsible and involved fatherhood.

	New York City Relief New York City Relief connects people in need with programs offering life-changing services.

	The Salvation Army of Greater Philadelphia The Salvation Army Its mission is to meet human needs without discrimination.

	Samaritan’s Purse Samaritan’s Purse is an organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world.

	YMCA of the Brandywine Valley The mission of the YMCA is to put into practice programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
