Herr's® Russet Kettle Cooked Potato Chips

For all those who have ever feverishly torn through a bag of chips, searching for those rare, bittersweet, dark-colored gems, Herr’s introduces Russet Kettle Cooked Potato Chips. Made with russet potatoes, the tasty morsels are now available by the bagful.

“Our new russet kettle chips are made with potatoes that have been chilled, which naturally increases their sugar content,” said Ed Herr, president of Herr Foods. “The resulting chips have a deep bronze color and unique flavor.”

Herr Foods selects the finest russet potatoes – chosen for their uniform color after chilling – that have been cooled to temperatures between 46 and 48 degrees. To create the old-fashioned, kettle-cooked style, the potatoes are then cooked in small batches with pure vegetable oil. The result is a thicker, crispier chip
