Herr’s peanut butter filled products are safe for human consumption
In conjunction with the FDA, various manufacturers and marketers of peanut butter containing products have issued recalls and warnings over the past couple weeks. It was determined that the peanut butter in these products contained the bacteria, Salmonella Typhimurium. Of identified concern were products that were reportedly sourced from the the Peanut Corporation of America (PCA).
In response to this discovery, Herr’s has obtained documented assurances that none of the peanut butter used in our products was sourced from PCA. In addition, the many quality assurance tests that are routinely performed to determine our products’ safety have shown no (zero) instances of the presence of this bacteria.
As this report of food contamination is of concern to all of us, Herr’s will continue to monitor and verify that all raw materials used in our products is free from any contamination and safe for human consumption.
If anyone has any questions about any Herr’s product, please feel free to contact our Vice President of Manufacturing and Technical Services, Phil Bernas at (800) 344-3777.
